Cardiovascular: Medications
There is considerable variation between individuals in response and sensitivity to drugs prescribed for various cardiovascular conditions. Much of this variability between individuals is due to genetic factors. These are DNA sequences alterations (polymorphisms) in specific genes that affect response to the medication. The influence of genetic variations on response to medications is referred to as pharmacogenetics.
Genomic Express currently offers pharmacogenetic tests for the following cardiovascular medications:
Genomic Express also offers other pharmocogenetic tests, and a complete description appears in Pharmacogenetics >> Tests by Medication.
